Understanding and Helping the Asperger's Plus Child K-12 & Beyond
This workshop will help you understand the motivations, joys and challenges of children impacted by Asperger's and other mental health issues. It will provide evidence-based strategies that caregivers can use to boost confidence, resilience and skills needed for successful transitions. Presented by George Lynn, MA, MPA. AuSM bookstore will be there to provide resources.

Prepare to Learn
Specialized services to assist young adults in preparing for post-secondary education. This one-year, MnSCU/Perkins IV funded project is administered by MRC. It is designed specifically for individuals with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 24 who are NOT receiving support through Vocational Rehabilitation or Transition.

Research Studies


Infants at Risk for ASD
The Center for Neurobehavioral Development at the U of M is recruiting infants younger than nine months of age that have an older full-blood sibling that has ASD. The study involves multiple visits to the Center on the U of M, Twin Cities campus, at regular time points during your child's first two years of life, beginning at six months. Each visit is scheduled at your family's convience and free parking and child care are provided during each visit. At each session, your child will receive a small gift, and we will compensate you for your time and travel.

Facial Processing Study
The Yonas Visual Perception Lab at the University of MN is currently recruiting children with high functioning autism or asperger syndrome to participate in a research study focusing on facial recognition and processing.

Parental Attitudes Toward CAM Therapies in Children with Autism
A medical resident in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the UofM is conducting this study on complementary and alternative medical (CAM) therapies. The purpose of the study is to explore current use of CAM therapies for autism and parents' perceptions of these therapies. Parents (18 years and older) with a child diagnosed on the autsim spectrum are asked to complete a 15 minute online survey. Click here to get started.
