Gary and his dog Rocky are walking to raise awareness of Asperger's and autism. Gary walks in honor of his 6-year-old son who has Asperger's. Gary says his son is incredible and yet so easily misunderstood; he has the answers he just doesn't know how to express them or answering isn't his priority. Gary has post concussion syndrome and other disabilities and medically needs to walk about three miles a day. Rocky, his service dog, helps Gary while he walks. Last year Gary and Rocky walked 23 miles, from Pipestone to Woodstock and back on the Casey Jones Trail. Click here to visit Gary's Facebook page and track his 2015 walk.
Gary is asking that donations toward his awareness walk go to support AuSM's programs and services for people in Minnesota. Click here to donate online and note "Gary Weeks and Rocky Walk" in the "What inspired you to donate to AuSM today?" field. Or, send donations to AuSM, 2380 Wycliff St. #102, St. Paul, MN 55114.
