New Minnesota autism insurance reform bill

AuSM supports the new Minnesota autism insurance reform bill, HF.181, which requires intensive behavior therapy, including but not limited to applied behavior analysis; intensive early intervention behavior therapy; intensive behavior intervention, neuro-developmental and behavioral health treatments and management. It also includes coverage for autism-related physical, occupational and speech therapy. The bill has passed the House health and human services policy and commerce committees. Sponsored by Representative Kim Norton, the bill would take effect in August 2013. The companion bill, S.F. 314, is expected to be heard in the Senate next week.
